Difference between KVM an OpenVZ VPS Print

  • vps, openvz, kvm, linux
  • 412

KVM is just like a dedicated server or bare metal server where the VPS runs just like a dedicated server, it does not shares kernel or anything with the Host or VPS Node. KVM VPS can run Linux, FreeBSD, Windows, basically any OS that can run on a Dedicated Server or Bare Metal Server.

OpenVZ is container style virtualisation where it uses or shares the host or VPS Node kernel and it can only run Linux Operating System.

KVM has no restrictions like you can install your own custom kernel, no file nodes limit etc... but it is more resource intensive then OpenVZ

We provide both kind of VPS - KVM as well as OpenVZ and all our VPS Nodes are using RAID 10 SSD, we don't use HDD or SSD Cached systems, we are using Pure RAID 10 SSD for best performance.
